Arizona natives in Hawaii react to false missile alert

"I literally called my mom to tell her I love her, because I was freaking out."

PHOENIX - Former Arizona residents who now live in Hawaii tell 12 News it was full blown panic after they received a false missile alert on their phones Saturday morning.

“I literally called my mom to tell her I love her, because I was freaking out,” said Amy Bachmann, an Arizona native now living in Hawaii.

Another resident, Terry Kurtright, said that for 38 minutes, he was going through so much uncertainty.

“The first thing that goes into your mind is ‘OK, what am I going to do and where am I going to go?’” said Kurtright.

The Governor of Hawaii apologized for the false alarm and says that he too was angry and disappointed it happened.
