The lake patrol deputies helped the men on board of the plane out of the water.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a single-engine aircraft that crashed into Lake Pleasant near the north four-lane boat ramp.

MCSO said a father, Mahmood Tehrani, and his son, Fabien Tehrani, were on board the plane when it crashed into Scorpion Bay around 1 p.m., Saturday afternoon.

Miraculously, they were able to walk away from the crash with only minor injuries.

A man who witnessed the crash said he saw their plane appear to skim the water moments before.

"He started buzzing the water and we were just all excited, because like, holy cow, this is fun," said the witness.

The situation became serious moments later, when the plane disappeared behind a land mass, and the boaters saw a giant splash.

Good Samaritans fished out the the men.
