Record flooding closes forest sites near Sedona, Camp Verde

Flooding caused the closure of Beaver Creek day-use area.

Rain caused severe flooding in Oak Creek and the Verde Valley Thursday night.

Low lying areas near Sedona and Camp Verde were flooded.

Coconino National Forest is closing Chavez Group Camp Ground, the V Bar V Heritage Site, Westfork (Call of the Canyon), and the Beaver Creek and Bullpen day-use areas for clean up.

Grills and picnic tables were buried and debris was scattered through the camps.
