Tucson singer wows Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine with John Legend song on 'The Voice'

Kalvin Jarvis was heavily praised by both Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson, but Legend didn't turn his chair.

PHOENIX — It was a good night for one Tucson singer on NBC's "The Voice," who found himself moving on with "Team Adam."

Kalvin Jarvis performed John Legend's "A Good Night" Tuesday night on the show.

Although Legend didn't turn his chair, Jarvis' vocals got two judges to hit their buttons: Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine.

Clarkson was the one to ask Jarvis his name. He gave her his name and added he was from Tucson, Arizona.

"Arizona!" Clarkson said. "Oh my gosh, you are so good."

Levine said his vocals were "ridiculous," in a good way, of course.

Legend added that he thought Jarvis was really great but he is picky when it comes to his own music.

Jarvis said he manages a restaurant that serves breakfast food and according to 12 News' sister station KVOA, he auditioned at the Casino Del Sol nearly a year ago.

“I guess I’m hoping to establish a solid career out of it,” Jarvis told KVOA. “To be able to support myself and my family, eventually, by doing what it is I love to do which is singing. So, I’m gonna ride this thing until the wheels fall off. We’re gonna see what happens.”

Jarvis picked Adam Levine to be his coach.
