Gusty winds and raised fire risk continue

Fire danger is top of mind right now across Arizona.

PHOENIX — Gusty winds will get going again on Wednesday statewide. Westerly winds in the Valley will generally gust in the 20s, meanwhile in the mountains, gusts could crank into the 40s.

With dry, warm and windy weather taking hold, fire weather conditions are ripe at this time.

Temperatures will remain near seasonal standards through Thursday before a warming trend kicks in through Mother's Day weekend and beyond.

Entering into the middle of next week, there's a possibility for the hottest lower deserts locations to reach the triple-digits again.

Windy weather keeps fire risk high.
