PHOENIX — Below average temperatures and gusty winds continue into the weekend.
Look for Friday lower desert highs in the lower 80s and high-country highs in the 50s and 60s. Flagstaff will only muster a high of 50, with rain and snow showers. Phoenix's forecast high of 83 is five degrees below the normal for today.
A wind advisory is posted for most of the high deserts of northern Arizona through Friday evening. Statewide, expect southwest gusts 30-45 mph. This will cause tricky travel, blowing dust, and reduced visibility.
With a low pressure system passing to our north, most of the rain and mountain snow will stay in the high deserts of northern Arizona. Snow levels will drop to around 6500 feet, with minor accumulation expected; most spots will receive up to one inch of snow.
An isolated shower can't entirely be ruled out for parts of the valley Friday afternoon, especially the west and north valley. Most lower desert locations will remain dry.
