Let the brief warming trend begin!

The weekend forecast will be characterized by high winds, Valley rain, mountain snow and falling temperatures.

Thursday and Friday will feature abundant sunshine across the state with temperatures warming. 

On Friday the winds will pick up, but Saturday will be the windiest with 55mph gusts in the High Country and 40-45 mph gusts in the Valley. Blowing dust will be possible. 

On Saturday night rain and snow will begin to move in. Rain and thunderstorms will be heavy at times on Sunday. Snow in the High Country will fall as low as 5,000 feet, but most of the accumulation will happen above 6,000 feet.

The stormy weather will also have temperatures tumbling far below average to begin the new month of April.

SUNDAY: 67/52 Rain likely
