Father, daughter dead after car crashes into them in Glendale

They were riding a bike across Thunderbird Road when they were struck.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Two people died after a car collided into them in Glendale Sunday evening.

The crash happened near 52nd Avenue and Thunderbird Road around 7:30 p.m.

Glendale police say a man and a girl were biking when they were struck by a car. Both of them were killed.

They were identified Monday as 61-year-old Robert Martin Strickbine and his 13-year-old daughter Kalley.

Police say the man was operating the bike with the girl riding on the handlebars. They were crossing the street from north to south when the car traveling west careened into them. Robert and Kalley were thrown from the bike and died as a result of their injuries.

The driver of the Dodge Dart remained at the scene.

There were no charges pending, but police say speed, impairment and medical issues were being investigated as possible causes for the crash.
