Suspect arrested following double homicide at West Phoenix hotel

Police are expected to release more information about the suspect later in the day.

PHOENIX — The suspect involved in a double homicide on Thursday has been arrested, according to the Phoenix Police Department

Although authorities have not yet offered information about the suspect, police announced the arrest on Twitter and thanked the community for their help in sharing information about the crime.

The suspect was arrested near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road, police said.

On Thursday, just before 9 a.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired near the intersection of 48th Avenue and McDowell Road where they located two men with gunshot wounds. 

Both men have been pronounced dead, police said. 

Police asked for help locating a possible suspect vehicle described as a blue 2004 Dodge Ram pickup truck with license plate HYA3KB.

The suspect was believed to be armed and dangerous, police said.

The program shares unsolved felony case information in multiple ways, including TV, radio and social media. 

Anyone who has information on a crime or recognizes a suspect described by the program is asked to call 480-948-6377, go to the program's website online or download the Silent Witness app to provide a tip. The identity of anyone who submits a tip is kept anonymous. 

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case. 

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
