That's what user "GarthZorn" asked recently on Phoenix's subreddit when their mail carrier dropped off a copy of the telephone directory to their home.
"2-minutes later, it's in my recycling can," they said in the post. "How many people actually use that thing anymore? Who do we call to make them stop printing it and destroying trees? Who?"
More than 100 people have interacted with the post at the time of this article's publishing, and one of those people offered a permanent solution to the problem.
User "Kamlee22" posted a link to the City of Phoenix's website that offers numerous ways to opt out of getting unsolicited mail. The city's site provides multiple opt-out links, including junk mail like:
Other recommended junk mail could have multiple uses, like holding onto it in case of another toilet paper shortage, using it as makeshift bike trainer risers, or standing on top of it like a platform to look taller in your Tinder profile.
